Guarantee and Refunds
Nobody signs before they sit.
Every other group asks you to trust the room before you have seen it. We ask you to sit in it first. Here is every term, in plain English, including the parts that are not refundable.
How it actually works
Nothing here can be bought on impulse. The order matters, because it is what makes the guarantees below possible.
Free, and it takes a few minutes. Fewer than 5% of applicants are invited.
Refundable in full, before the night or after it. This is the deposit everything below refers to.
You see the room. The room sees you. This is where most of the deciding happens, on both sides.
Or you are not invited, or you pass. All three are normal, and all three return your deposit.
Not before. Nobody reaches this step without having already sat at a table.
By the time your 30 days begin, you have already had dinner with the room. You are not deciding on a promise.
Guarantee one. The $1,000 seat deposit
Your $1,000 holds your seat at your first dinner. It is refundable in full, before the night or after it, with or without a reason.
Not refundable if conditions are met. Not refundable less a processing fee. Refundable.
The $1,000 comes off your first year of dues.
Returned in full. You do not have to ask.
Returned in full. You do not have to explain.
Returned in full. You do not have to apologize.
Why there is a deposit at all
It is not revenue. It is a filter.
A free seat at a table of fifteen gets no-shows. A $1,000 seat gets founders who move a flight to be there. Every person sitting down that night committed exactly what you committed to be in that chair. That, and not the food, is what makes the evening worth your time.
The 120 days
We hold your deposit for 120 days from the day you pay it. Inside that window it is yours the moment you ask.
And we do not wait for you to ask. We reach out at day 30, day 60, day 90 and day 120 to close it out one way or the other. You will know the closing date on the day the clock starts, not after it has run.
If all four go unanswered, the deposit is donated in full to the nonprofit our annual charity gala supports. It does not stay with us. Once that donation is made it cannot be reversed, so if you want the money back, one reply at any point in those four months is all it takes.
Guarantee two. The first 30 days of membership
Membership is not something you can buy on impulse here. You apply, you are approved, you sit at a table, and only then are you invited. Every member starts their 30 days having already met the people they are paying to be around.
From the day you join, you have 30 days to get every dollar back. One thing is asked of you first. Complete your onboarding.
That is not a hoop. It is how we learn what you are actually building, so your first introductions are the right three founders instead of a random fifteen. A member who skipped it has not experienced the membership. They have experienced an invoice.
Do it, decide it still is not for you, and say so inside 30 days. Dues returned in full, including the $1,000 you put down to attend your first dinner. If you leave inside 30 days, you leave whole. No exit interview. No attempt to win you back.
And after day 30
Dues are committed for the membership year.
Not because we are rigid. Because a room people can leave any month is not a room. It is a lobby. The reason this works is that the founder you met in March still knows what you are building in November, and calls you when the deal shows up. That only exists if everyone commits to the same year. We are asking you for exactly what every member at that table already gave you.
Guarantee three. The room is what we said it was
We cannot guarantee what you will build. We can guarantee who is sitting next to you.
Every member is revenue verified, background checked, and agrees to one rule before they walk in. No pitching, no selling into the room.
If you sit down and find someone at that table who does not belong there, tell us. A coach working the room. A vendor prospecting. Someone whose numbers do not hold up.
We remove them, and we refund you in full. Immediately. No 30 day window. No conditions. No waiting for a cycle to end.
We can promise that because we do the verification ourselves, in advance, on every single member. Most groups cannot promise it, which is a useful thing to ask them about.

A guarantee you cannot read the edges of is not a guarantee. Here are the edges.
When you confirm a seat we buy the food and hold the chair. A table of fifteen with two empty seats is a worse night for the thirteen who came. The contribution covers the meal and not access, and we do not make money on it.
A three day retreat with villas booked months out cannot run on the same terms as a Tuesday dinner, so we do not pretend it does. You will see that event's terms on the event itself, in advance, every time. What you will never get is a policy invented after the fact.
The $1,000 seat deposit is a different thing entirely, and it is always refundable.
How to ask
Reply to any email we have sent you, or write to thomas@entrehouse.com. One line is enough. You do not need to give a reason and you will not be asked for one.
Refunds go back to the original payment method. We process them within three business days, and your bank usually takes another five to ten after that.
We would rather return a deposit and stay on good terms with a founder we may see again in three years than keep $1,000 and lose the room's reputation for one.
